The Communication Trust need your input: Involving Children and Young People with SLCN
The Communication Trust are looking for practitioners to help them redevelop one of their popular resources: Involving Children and Young People with SLCN – A toolkit for education settings
The free toolkit was initially launched in February 2016 in order to help staff in education settings to understand, review and to shape their approach in improving the involvement of children and young people as part of everyday good practice.
It contains information about the 2014 SEND Code of Practice 0-25, including guidance, activities and approaches and signposts to practical tools that can be used across a whole range of settings to action change. This ensures that involving children and young people with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) becomes systemically integrated into teaching and practice.
This year, The Communication Trust are aiming to develop the toolkit further, to include more practical tools and materials to support practitioners to better involve children and young people of all ages.
The trust are looking for practitioners to provide feedback about the existing toolkit to help them to develop and shape their plans, as well as to test any new materials that they create later in the year.
If you have used the toolkit over the last year, or would be interested in offering a review, please get in touch with Kelly Bracken – firstname.lastname@example.org
