I CAN Makes Every Second Count for ICAP Charity Day
ICAP’s 24th global annual Charity Day took place this week and I CAN was one of this year’s beneficiary charities. By choosing to donate all their revenue and commissions on one day every year, ICAP have made a positive contribution to the lives of thousands of people and this year I CAN were lucky enough to benefit. From a combined effort of customers, staff and suppliers ICAP together raised £8.2million – making a greater impact than could have been imagined.
Supporting I CAN on the day were GB women’s hockey gold medallists Shona McCallin, Hollie Webb and Laura Unsworth (pictured) along with cricketing legend Mike Gatting OBE who swapped the pitch for the trading floor. Kayak athlete Ed McKeever and rower Scott Durant were also there to help deliver another memorable ICAP event.
ICAP funding will help support I CAN’s Talking to Toddlers programme, for children with delayed language in deprived areas in the UK. Through this programme I CAN will support 400 children aged two to three years, over the course of a three year development phase. ICAP’s funding is crucial in supporting this first phase of the project to kick start the early development of this new and essential programme.
Annu Mayor, Head of Fundraising Development at I CAN said: ‘It was a remarkable and memorable day for I CAN. We are so grateful to ICAP and each of our ambassadors who participated. It was fantastic to see everyone working together, the atmosphere on the trading floor was electric! The ICAP charity day is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we are delighted to have been involved this year’.
