Thank you to all the I CAN Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 cyclists

We would like to say a huge well done to all those who completed the 100 mile Prudential RideLondon-Surrey cycle in the heat of yesterday’s Sunday sunshine. Particularly those that raised money for I CAN. Funds raised will help the more than 1 million children in the UK that will find it difficult to read, to learn, to join in and make friends because of a speech, language and communication need (SLCN).

We saw some amazing finish times amongst the I CAN team, with one of our riders completing the race in 4 hours 17 minutes.   Well done Andrew South that’s an astonishing time!

Some of our riders favourite moments were the hills (downhill!!), the sights of London at the beginning and the crowds especially those at Dorking who were especially loud and supportive!

The team’s efforts have raised £3,400 so far, which we hope to push closer to £6,000 in total now they have their medals as proof of completion. We are very grateful for all their hard work training and fundraising!

Following the ride some of our cyclists managed to battle the crowds to visit us in Green Park for a celebratory glass of Bucks Fizz and some much needed sugar.  It was lovely to see them and their friends and families who came to welcome them past the finish line!  We were also delighted to see Eva one of our I CAN Meath school pupils who came with her family to cheer her Uncle, Philip Kelly who was in our I CAN team.
