Launching Chatterbox Challenge 2015: Garden Adventures with Ben & Holly!

Today, we are delighted to launch Chatterbox Challenge 2015: Garden Adventures with Ben & Holly. Now in its 14th year, Chatterbox Challenge is the annual early years sing-along event that takes place across the UK for children under 5.

Chatterbox Challenge Week will be taking place 9-15th February 2015 but groups can take part in the Challenge at any time of the year. We’re inviting early years groups to register now to receive their free fundraising pack, filled with fun activities.

The activities in the pack are linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and will develop a range of skills including attention and listening – and is also relevant for other early years curricula.

The Challenge helps to develop children’s speech and language skills by learning songs based on their surroundings both inside and outside and completing activities to strengthen their communication development. Children perform the themed songs at a sponsored Chatterbox Challenge performance in front of parents and carers. All fundraising goes towards I CAN’s work with the one million children in the UK who struggle to communicate.

We are delighted that Chatterbox Challenge 2015: Garden Adventures with Ben & Holly is supported by Entertainment One’s (eOne) popular children’s TV show, Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom, from the hit Nick Jr. TV show and Milkshake Show on Channel 5.

Chatterbox Challenge is also supported by Openreach, a BT Group Business, and TTS, suppliers of high-quality educational resources.  Early years groups Boogie Mites, Debutots, La Jolie Ronde, Talking Tots and Tots on Tour are all supporting the Challenge again. All these organisations and groups help I CAN to reach more early years practitioners and families to highlight the important issue of children’s communication development.

Previous Chatterbox Challenge participant and the top 2014 fundraiser Tracy Telfer from Little Acorns Nursery in Atherton, Greater Manchester said, “We are all really looking forward to this year’s Chatterbox Challenge. We had such a fantastic time at our Challenge event last year and raised over £1700 for I CAN. We cannot wait to register and start learning the songs for this year’s performance!”
